Kent Police and Citizen's Association

The Kent Police and Citizen's Association (KPCA) was founded in 1972. It is a non-profit organization within the police department. All members of the police department are members of KPCA. KPCA is administered by 7 board members. The purpose of KPCA is to promote good personal relations between the police department and the community. All KPCA activities are funded solely by fund raising efforts and donations.

Some recent KPCA activities:

  • Sponsorship of a lane for the Children's Advocacy Center Bowl Against Abuse
  • Advertisement in St. Patrick School's spring drama program
  • Fill-a-Cruiser in conjunction with Walgreens and Catholic Charities of Portage County; 34 families, all from Kent, benefited from this event
  • Sponsorship of a boy's baseball team in the Kent Parks and Recreation League 2010 & 2011
  • Sponsorship of a girl's softball team in the Kent Parks and Recreation League 2010 & 2011
  • Donations made to Sara Anweiler, a Kent State University PD / Brimfield PD dispatcher, who was suffering from cancer
  • Donations made to Don Beckett, a Kent Firefighter, who was suffering from cancer
  • KPCA Annual Scholarship - provided to a graduating senior at Theodore Roosevelt High School
