The mission of the Kent Police Department is to serve and protect the persons and property in the City of Kent. We strive to create and promote partnerships with our community through education and collaboration. We apply the law consistently while professionally interacting with the public.

The Kent Police Department is pleased to announce the implementation of a cell phone and web based application which allows citizens to submit anonymous tips to us.
This service is being provided to the public for non-emergency use. It is not meant to be used as a substitute for calling 911 in emergency situations. In the event of an emergency, you should always dial 911. If your situation is not an emergency, but still requires an officer to respond, you may dial our non-emergency phone number at 330-673-7732.
The Kent Police Department recognizes and provides learning opportunities through an internship program for students studying criminal justice or related fields.
Interns will observe police functions in a regulated and productive manner.

Kent City Ordinance 559, requires every alarm user in the City to register each alarm system in use with the Emergency Communications Center prior to, but no later than fifteen days after, an alarm system is installed or placed into use.
